The award watchlists continue adding up for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Before the beginning of the 2025-2026 season, numerous preseason predictions and award watchlists are released.
The Hawkeyes have multiple representatives sprinkled throughout the award watchlists, including the Maxwell Award and the Outland Trophy.
Iowa senior quarterback Mark Gronowski was named to the Maxwell Award watchlist ahead of his first season as the Iowa signal caller. Gronowski is poised to lead a dormant Iowa offense in his first year under center.
The Maxwell Award is given annually to the most outstanding player in college football.
Two Iowa offensive linemen, Logan Jones and Gennings Dunker, were named as finalists for the Outland Trophy, given to the best interior lineman on offense or defense.
Dunker is racking up the preseason nominations after being added to the Outland Trophy watchlist and now to the Wuerffel Award watchlist.

Dunker and his glorious red mullet continues to earn recognition ahead of his senior season in Iowa City.
The Wuerffel Award is the premier award for community service and is named after 1996 Heisman Trophy winner Danny Wuerffel. The award has been given out annually for the past 21 years.
The Wuerffel Award finalists and recipients are selected by a national voting committee with an added fan voting component.
Dunker was named to the watchlist following a multitude of community service hours spent at the Stead Family Children's Hospital, Safe Haven Animal Shelter, Legacy Pointe Senior Living Center, and Iowa City Regina High School.
Dunker was a dominant force for the right side of the Iowa offensive last season, and looks to be an anchor for the right side again this season.
