As the Indiana Fever continue life without star Caitlin Clark in the lineup, they are struggling to find consistency.

The Fever currently sit at No. 3 in the Eastern Conference standings and No. 6 overall in the WNBA standings, going 10-9 without their star guard, with an 18-14 record overall.

The Fever have needed to find other ways to succeed without Clark, including ramping up their defensive efforts and spreading the ball around more on offense.

According to ESPN, the Fever moved from No. 11 in defensive ranking last season to No. 8 this season, and the results speak for themselves.

Other players have also had to step up in Clark's absence, including star guard Kelsey Mitchell and Aari McDonald.

Before suffering a season-ending injury, McDonald had increased her scoring to 11.6 points per game during Clark's recent injury stint, and Mitchell is averaging a team-leading 20 points per game.

The Fever have found ways to win without Clark in the lineup, but a former WNBA superstar is high on the squad to be even better when she returns.

Former WNBA superstar Diana Taurasi joined USA Today's "Sports Seriously" and proclaimed she would not want to face a healthy Caitlin Clark and the Fever in the playoffs.

Taurasi stated she knows from experience with the Phoenix Mercury and doing the Final Four shows, when Clark was torching teams at Iowa, that a healthy Clark is not someone to mess with.

Taurasi also went on to say that it is tough because she can "really change the game in a couple of moments."

The former Phoenix Mercury star guard has not always been willing to praise Clark and her impact on the WNBA, but she seems to be coming around.
