The 2025 MLB Draft has come and gone with around 600 players realizing their childhood dreams of joining a professional organization. The journey to the Majors begins now.

Iowa Baseball had a solid 2025 season, but faltered down the stretch. The Hawkeyes were hot in the middle of the season and won eight consecutive Big Ten series before finally dropping one.

At the end of the regular season, Iowa dropped back-to-back series against No. 10 Oregon State and No. 5 Oregon, losing their grip on the top spot in the conference.

After holding the top spot for a majority of the season, UCLA and Oregon split the regular season title. Iowa finished third and looked to make a run in the Big Ten Tournament. Iowa advanced to the semifinals but lost to a hot UCLA team, effectively ending their season.

The Hawkeyes finished the season with a 33-22-1 (21-9 Big Ten) record and a third place regular season finish.

After the season, multiple talented Hawkeyes eyed the 2025 MLB Draft. Four Hawkeyes were drafted during the two-day event, all of them being pitchers.

After the draft concluded, one more former Hawkeye agreed to terms with the San Francisco Giants.

Iowa utility man Daniel Rogers agreed to sign with the Giants after going undrafted. His agreement is pending a physical.

Rogers spent his first four seasons at Loras College before transferring to Iowa before the 2025 season.

During his four seasons with Loras, Rogers had a .399 average with 31 home runs and 146 runs batted in. Rogers had a massive senior season for Loras, putting up a .444 batting average with eight home runs and 38 RBI.

He also tallied 72 hits, a Loras single-season program record.

In his lone season with the Hawkeyes, Rogers had a .251 batting average with seven home runs and 42 RBI in 54 games (171 at-bats).
