After dropping games one and two of the three-game weekend series at Principal Park in Des Moines, Iowa, the Iowa Baseball looked to get back on track in game three.
In game one, pitching miscues sunk the Hawkeyes in a 9-6 loss. Hawkeye pitchers combined for six walks, three errors, one hit batter, and one wild pitch.
In game two, the Iowa bats were ice cold. The Hawkeyes batted .152 as a team with 16 strikeouts and only managed one run in a 5-1 loss. The pitchers struggled for the second straight night, walking five and hitting three batters.
In the Sunday series finale, the Hawkeyes attempted to leave Des Moines with a win.

During a Mother's Day contest Sunday afternoon, the Hawkeyes need a response after dropping the first two games and the series to No. 10 Oregon State. The Iowa bats got going early.
The Hawkeyes gained their first lead of the series in the bottom of the first inning after Gable Mitchell and Caleb Wulf run-scoring singles. The Hawkeyes added one more in the second inning on a Ben Wilmes run-scoring single.
Iowa held a 3-0 lead heading into the fifth inning. In the top of the fifth, Oregon State responded.
After the Beavers loaded the bases, a walk allowed their first run to cross home plate. Shortly after, a bases-clearing grand slam put the Beavers ahead 5-3. The Hawkeyes added a run in the bottom of the inning to cut the deficit to 5-4.
The Hawkeyes added a run in the eighth inning and forced the game into extras with a 5-5 tie. Each team would score in the 10th inning and that is when the game was called.
Iowa out-hit Oregon State nine to four, but left 10 runners on base. The Iowa pitchers also struggled with walks for the third straight game. Four Iowa pitchers combined for a massive 12 walks.
The Hawkeyes head back to Iowa City for a three-game series against the Oregon Ducks, starting on Thursday, May 15, at 6:02 p.m. Central Time. The series is the final regular season series before the Big Ten Tournament begins on May 20.
