When he is not hitting dingers in celebrity softball games, former Hawkeye Riley Moss is locking down NFL wide receivers.

Moss was a member of the Hawkeyes' defense from 2018 to 2023, and he developed into Iowa's top cover corner.

It took a few seasons for Moss to establish himself at the college level after being thrust into action as a freshman. Still, he became Iowa's top corner during his junior and senior seasons.

During his outstanding junior season (2021-2022), Moss started in 11 games, tallying 39 total tackles (35 solo, four assisted), five pass breakups, and four interceptions.

His interception numbers dipped during his senior season because teams didn't throw his way, but he still tallied 47 tackles, 11 pass breakups, and two forced fumbles.

After two solid seasons for the Hawkeyes, the Denver Broncos selected him No. 83 overall in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Moss began his career primarily on special teams, but became a full-time starter for the Broncos last season.

Before this season began, Moss' teammate Pat Surtain stated that Moss is now starting to understand the game "at a deeper level," and he has demonstrated this understanding this season.

According to Next Gen Stats, Moss leads the NFL in lowest completion percentage this season (39.1 percent).

Moss has become a lockdown corner for the Broncos. Although he has not had an interception this season, he is demonstrating why he is one of the best defensive backs in the league.

Through the first eight weeks of the season, Denver's defense is ranked No. 1 in the NFL in completion percentage (55.9), T-No. 2 in touchdowns given up (seven), and T-No. 4 in yards per pass attempt (6.4).

Moss is having a big impact on the Denver defense and it would not be a surprise if he made his first Pro Bowl very soon.
