The Iowa versus Iowa State rivalry is one of the oldest rivalries in college football, dating back to 1894. There was a 33-year hiatus in the game from 1934 to 1977, but when the game resumed in 1977, the Cy-Hawk trophy was born.

Iowa has dominated the all-time series 47-24, but Iowa State has won two of the last three, both of the victories happening at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City.

Over the summer, Barstool Sports and Fox announced a collaboration between the two media entities, with Stool president Dave Portnoy joining the desk for the "Big Noon Kickoff."

Portnoy did not officially throw his support behind the Hawkeyes, even after Hawkeye Football's social media accounts claimed he is "one of us," but a recent blunder by the Cyclones' social media staff has pushed Portnoy's support towards Iowa.

In their promotional photo for the "Big Noon Kickoff," Cyclones Football's official account on X left Portnoy out of the picture, prompting him to respond with "guess I'm taking the Hawkeyes with this disrespect."

The Hawkeyes will need all the support they can get as they travel to a hostile environment in Ames to battle a hot Iowa State team.

Iowa State is coming off two straight victories to start the season and is ranked No. 16 in the most recent AP Top 25 poll.

Portnoy has supported Iowa alum Caitlin Clark in the past and has donned her jersey in public, so if he wants to be a Hawkeye supporter for this game, who says no?
