It's another Indiana franchise record that features Clark

Despite the WNBA's best attempts to further diminish Caitlin Clark's impact on the league, she made more history.

Clark was named an all-star in her first two seasons in the league, averaging 17.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 8.6 assists. After spending a majority of the 2025 season on the sidelines with multiple injuries, she returned with a vengeance in 2026, continuing to shatter records. As the season continues, more and more records continue to fall, and this time, two of Clark's teammates are joining her at the top.

Aliyah Boston, Caitlin Clark, and Kelsey Mitchell achieved a new Fever franchise record

After spending multiple years at the bottom of the WNBA standings, the Indiana Fever earned back-to-back No. 1 overall picks in Aliyah Boston (2023) and Caitlin Clark (2024), both of whom earned Rookie of the Year. Paired with star guard Kelsey Mitchell, the Fever continue making a push to the top of the WNBA with a high-powered offense. After all three earned all-star selections last season, they did one better this year.

For the first time in Indiana Fever history, three of the organization's players were named ASG starters, including former Hawkeye star Caitlin Clark. Despite all the negativity surrounding Clark in recent weeks, she continues to thrive in the WNBA, and hopefully, will be healthy for this year's All-Star Game.

Last season, Clark was injured in the second-to-last game before the All-Star break, and it turned out to be a season-ending injury. Unfortunately, the Fever star has been sidelined for the past three games following a cheap shot by Phoenix's Alyssa Thomas, and her future status remains up in the air. Even though the league and multiple players are doing their best to keep Clark out of the spotlight, her star continues to shine brighter than ever.

Nice try WNBA, but Caitlin Clark won't be denied

In a sneaky, under-the-radar move, the WNBA moved away from All-Star Game captains after last season and adopted a more traditional voting-based format. They won't admit that it was because Clark was always going to be a captain due to her high fan support, but even in the first year of the new format, Clark was named a starter. Fans everywhere are highly anticipating her taking the court at the All-Star game if she recovers from a recent back injury.

The WNBA's move is the latest in a string of questionable moves to dim Clark's light, including leaving her off the 30th-anniversary poster, but Clark's resilience has shown through. Clark is a very emotional and vocal player, constantly questioning the officiating or becoming visibly emotional on the court, but she also has to endure constant media attention and scrutiny. No one is claiming that she is completely blameless, but she has never blamed anyone else and continues to work hard.

The league, coaches, and fellow players will never admit how jealous they are of Clark, but there are clear signs. Clark will be the first to tell you that she isn't focused on those things, but with all the media attention she receives, it's becoming harder and harder to ignore. For now, all she needs to focus on is getting healthy and joining her teammates at the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday, July 25, at the United Center in Chicago.
