Iowa Baseball has been red hot, winning seven straight series in Big Ten Conference play. They took the first two games against Michigan in Ann Arbor and went for the sweep on Sunday afternoon.

On Friday, Iowa won game one 6-5 and won game two 3-2 on Saturday. After securing the series win, the Hawkeyes went for the sweep on Sunday.

Michigan jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after a first-inning solo home run. They would hold the lead until the fifth inning. Junior Miles Risley gave the Hawkeyes the lead in the top of the fifth inning after his single drove in two runs.

Iowa added another run in the top of the seventh inning after a run-scoring single. The Wolverines responded, adding one run in the bottom of the seventh and eighth innings. The Hawkeyes' offense came alive in the top of the ninth inning.

Iowa scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning to take a 7-3 lead. Michigan responded with a solo home run in the bottom of the inning, and Risley robbed another home run to seal the game 7-4.

Risley did everything for the Hawkeyes in Sunday's victory. He went 2 for 3 with a double and knocked in three runs. He also made a spectacular catch in the outfield to take a home run away from the Wolverines.

Reece Beuter started on the mound for Iowa in the series finale. He pitched six innings, allowing one earned run on three hits and struck out a career-high eight batters. Anthony Watts closed out the final two innings to pick up the win.

The Hawkeyes look to carry momentum into their next homestand, playing their next six games in Iowa City. They welcome Western Illinois to Duane Banks Field on Tuesday, April 22, at 6:00 p.m. Central Time for their next game.
