Bennett Stirtz put Iowa Men's Basketball back on the map in his first and only season with the program, and he is now taking his talents to Oklahoma City.

Stirtz has been saying and doing all the right things in his short tenure with the organization before he officially takes the court as an official member of the Thunder. OKC GM Sam Presti has been gushing recently about Stirtz, praising his work ethic and his willingness to make sacrifices for the good of the team.

Hawkeye fans are very familiar with how hard Stirtz works, and now they will get to see him in a familiar number.

Stirtz will continuing wearing No. 14 during his rookie season

Stirtz joined fellow Big Ten star Aday Mara as the Thunder's first-round draft picks, and he is looking good with his new jersey.

Stirtz will continue wearing No. 14 in his rookie season with the Thunder, a number he made famous at Northwest Missouri State, Drake, and Iowa. Stirtz, Mara, and Kentucky's Otega Oweh were introduced to the public on Sunday, June 28, as the trio fielded questions about joining the organization and their expectations for their rookie year.

The newest rookie additions to the roster will take the court for the first time during the NBA Summer League on July 4 against the Memphis Grizzlies, the team that initially drafted Stirtz and recently added his former teammate, Brendan Hausen, to its roster for the summer. Before he has a chance to showcase what he can do, Stirtz chose a familiar number to begin what he hopes is a long NBA career.

Stirtz has the potential to be a solid NBA player, with his shooting ability and high basketball IQ. He is a true three-level scorer and solid passer, and with the Thunder's recent roster moves, he could easily see some early playing time. The Thunder recently traded Aaron Wiggins and sent Isaiah Joe to Detroit, creating a unique opportunity for Stirtz to take advantage. If he can slightly improve his defense, his chances to make the rotation will go up significantly, and we all know he will put in the work.

Stirtz is up for the challenge, and Hawkeye fans can't wait for the opportunity to see him in his iconic No. 14 very soon.
