At multiple points this season when he has mentioned his recruiting strategy, Ben McCollum stated simply that if you are six-foot-seven and above and can shoot, you will succeed with the program.

McCollum way oversimplified his approach, but his recruiting strategy has reamined true to that base strategy.

Two prime examples on this year's team are freshmen forwards Tate Sage and Trey Thompson.

Sage has been a revelation for McCollum's squad this season, providing a spark off the bench with his solid all-around game.

Thompson has not played this season, but has a similar skillset, and will look for an expanded role next season.

After most of his "D-2 Drake" squad graduates in a few years, McCollum will need reinforcements, and he is looking to Nebraska to add some much-need talent in the 2027 recruiting class.

Iowa offered 2027 Nebraska prospect London Dada

Ben McCollum has a particular skillset he is looking for, and recently offered prospect London Dada fits that profile perfectly.

Dada, a six-foot-seven wing prospect from Lincoln, Nebraska, is starting to generate some steam in the 2027 recruiting class due to his versatility.

This season for Westside High School in Omaha, Nebraska, Dada is averaging 14.7 points, 6.6 assists, and 2.0 assists per game, while shooting 43 percent from the field.

Dada has only made one unofficial visit to Nebraska last summer and is scheduled to visit Creighton at the end of January.

Iowa joined Belmont, Creighton, Nebraska, and Nebraska-Omaha in offering Dada.

The Hawkeyes have yet to secure a commitment in the 2027 class and are trying to pry Dada away from Nebraska in order to add their first.
