We are five days into the 15-day transfer portal window for men's college basketball, and while Iowa hasn't signed anyone yet, the program continues to push for multiple talented players.
With the reported asking price for the top 25 transfer players ranging from $2.5 to $5 million, the program has been priced out of the elite tier while it gathers more financial resources for McCollum, but that hasn't stopped them from meeting with players who fill specific needs.
One of those needs is guard depth after Bennett Stirtz (graduation) and Brendan Hausen (graduation) exit the program, and the Hawkeyes have reportedly shown interest in a veteran guard who made the jump to Division I last season.
Transfer guard Tylen Riley checks multiple boxes for the Iowa program
With the program focused on adding more guard depth, an intriguing transfer who had his best statistical season last year for the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes.

After starting his career at Calvary Baptist University, guard Tylen Riley made the jump to mid-major Tulsa last season, and he was successful.
Riley started all 38 games for the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes last season, averaging 15.0 points on 44.8 percent shooting from the field and 38.9 percent from beyond the arc.
He also added 3.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game en route to earning a Second-Team All-AAC selection last season.
Riley proved last season that he is a three-level scorer who can not only get to the rim, but also light it up from the outside.
He not only fills up the stat sheet, but as a senior next season, he would give Iowa a veteran leader at one of the most important positions on the floor.
No one can replace Bennett Stirtz, but if Riley can make a successful jump to a high-major program, it gives Ben McCollum more options at point guard next season.
