It is not often that you can find a pair of brothers who are both regarded as top prospects in their respective recruiting classes, and the Iowa program is attempting to lure two talented players in the 2027 and 2028 classes

The Hawkeyes have no committed players in either the 2027 or 2028 recruiting classes, but it is still very early in the process.

The Iowa program has been aggressively pursuing top Wisconsin prospects in the 2027 recruiting class, offering Donovan Davis and Jack Kohnen last summer.

After the calendar flipped to 2026, Ben Mccollum and the coaching staff have remained diligent on the recruiting trail, and went back to Wisconsin to offer Jack's younger brother, Joey.

Iowa offered Wisconsin's top prospect in the 2028 recruiting class

Even though it is still very early in the recruiting rankings process for the 2028 class, guard/forward prospect Joey Kohnen is widely considered to be one of the best in the class.

According to 247Sports' Sean Bock, Ben McCollum, Josh Sash, and Bryston Williams all recently attended one of Joey's games, and also checked in on his brother Jack and Donovan Davis.

As a sophomore at Slinger High School, Joey is averaging 16.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game.

He is also shooting 51.9 percent from the field and 29 percent from beyond the arc this season.

247Sports currently ranks Kohnen as a three-star prospect, Wisconsin's No. 1 overall prospect, and the No. 89 overall prospect in the 2028 recruiting class.

If the Hawkeyes can convince the Kohnen brothers to head south to Iowa City, the program will be in great hands moving forward.
