Succeeding at three different schools in three seasons is not an easy task, but a task that new Iowa forward Cam Manyawu is trying to accomplish.
Manyawu began his college career at Wyoming (2023-2024) before joining the Drake Bulldogs for their magical run last season (2024-2025).
Manyawu is now on his third team in three years after joining the Hawkeyes in the spring. After Ben McCollum was hired as Iowa's next coach, Manyawu followed him and is ready to take on a higher level of competition.
While he was a member of the Drake Bulldogs program, the squad battle multiple high caliber teams, including Miami, Vanderbilt, Bradley, Missouri, and Texas, Tech, and Manyawu is ready for another leap in competition.
During his time at the podium during the 2025 Big Ten Men's Basketball Media Days (posted by "247Sports"), Manyawu talked about his preparation for this season.
Manyawu credited the training and coaching staff for preparing him for the physicality of the Big Ten Conference through intense preseason workouts and by helping him change his diet.
Manyawu stated that over the offseason, he has gained close to 20 pounds of muscle, but is still able to move like he did in the past.
He also credited Iowa's director of athletic performance, Logan Odgen, with helping him change his diet and eat cleaner.
Bennett Stirtz joined Manywau at the podium for media days and also credited Ogden for the offseason workout plan. Stirtz mentioned that he even sent them a workout to do before media days, which they both did at the hotel.
Manyawu stated that he cannot wait to play in the Big Ten and hopes to be a villain on the road as the Hawkeyes battle so many opponents in great college basketball atmospheres.
