The Hawkeyes earned win No. 11 this season after a commanding performance against Penn State.
No. 14 Iowa easily took care of the Nittany Lions at home, and they had to do it without two key contributors.
Iowa has been without transfer forward Emely Rodriguez for the past seven games, and her status was a mystery until after Sunday's win.
Head Coach Jan Jensen stated that the program did not officially impose a suspension and that any issues were resolved internally.
While that is great news for the program, Rodriguez is still dealing with a lingering back issue and has not fully returned to the court.
The Hawkeyes were also without a starting guard, and their depth could be tested if she has to miss an extended period.
Kylie Feuerbach's injury timeline is unknown
Iowa starting guard Kylie Feuerbach played only nine minutes in the loss to UConn in New York and was out for the game against Penn State.
Feuerbach suffered an ankle injury against UConn and we now know her injury status going forward.
According to Hawkeyes Wire, Feuerbach is listed as "day-to-day," and her status for Iowa's next game against Nebraska on January 1 and beyond is unknown.
Without Feuerbach in the lineup, Jensen turned to reserve guard Taylor Stremlow, who had a solid game for the Hawkeyes in the win over Penn State.
Stremlow played 25 minutes, putting up 14 points and four assists.
Feuerbach has been one of Iowa's top defenders this season and always guards the opposing team's best player.
Even though she has struggled on offense this season, Feuerbach's veteran presence and defensive prowess will be greatly missed if her ankle injury keeps her sidelined.
