The 2026 NFL Draft has come and gone, and it was a record-setting weekend for the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Entering the Draft, 94 Hawkeyes have been selected during Kirk Ferentz's impressive tenure, and that number has increased significantly.
Seven Hawkeyes were taken in this year's draft, further adding to Ferentz's legacy, and it was significant for multiple reasons.
Seven drafted players is a new Iowa program record for picks in a single draft
The list of Iowa players drafted in this year's draft is below:
- Logan Jones - Chicago Bears (Round 2, Pick No. 57)
- Gennings Dunker - Pittsburgh Steelers (Round 3, Pick No. 96)
- Kaden Wetjen - Pittsburgh Steelers (Round 4, Pick No. 121)
- Beau Stephens - Seattle Seahawks (Round 5, Pick No. 148)
- Karson Sharar - Arizona Cardinals (Round 6, Pick No. 183)
- TJ Hall - New Orleans Saints (Round 7, Pick No. 219)
- Max Llewellyn - Miami Dolphins (Round 7, Pick No. 238)
An impressive list to say the least, and not only is the list impressive, but it is a new Iowa program record.
Max Llewellyn drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the 7th round. That's seven Iowa players drafted this year. A new record for a single season during the Ferentz era.

After the Miami Dolphins selected defensive lineman Max Llewellyn in the seventh round, the number of players drafted under Ferentz surpassed the century mark at 101, setting a new Iowa record.
The NFL pipeline from Iowa remains strong, and as long as Ferentz is at the helm, that won't change anytime soon.
Since 2013, the Iowa program has had at least one player taken in the NFL Draft, and while that isn't a goal of the program, it is nothing short of miraculous. It speaks to just how good Ferentz and the program are at developing players, and prospects with any NFL dreams should take a long look at Iowa.
