After losing five players to the transfer portal and four to graduation, Jan Jensen and the Iowa Women's Basketball program have some work to do before next season.
The program is getting uber-talented prospect McKenna Woliczko from the 2026 recruiting class and has made a splash in the transfer portal, bringing in two players so far.
After adding guards Dani Carnegie (Georgia) and Amari Whiting (Oklahoma State) from the transfer portal, the roster is at eight players, leaving seven open spots.
Tio get the roster to at least 12, we have four players who are still looking for new homes that Iowa could add to the roster.
Keira Hanson, guard (Vermont)

2025-2026 season stats (35 games): 14.3 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists. 45.2% FG, 42.7% 3P
As a grad transfer, Vermont guard Keira Hanson gives Iowa two things they desperately need: veteran leadership and scoring.
Hanson had a productive season for the Catamounts last year and has been a stellar three-point shooter throughout her four-year career.
In four years with Vermont, she's a career 41.0 percent three-point shooter.
Kiyomi McMiller, guard (Penn State)

2025-2026 season stats (29 games): 21.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 45% FG, 35.3% 3P
Iowa needs more scoring, and Penn State transfer Kiyomi McMiller does that and much more.
Despite the fact she is looking for her third team in three years, McMiller was productive for the Nittany Lions last season.
As a starter for Penn State last season, she averaged career-highs across the board and could easily start or be a primary reseerve for Jan Jensen next season.
Alexis Bordas, guard (Duquesne)

2025-2026 season stats (31 games): 15.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists 35.7% FG, 34.6% 3P
A-10 All-Freshman Team selection Alexis Bordas had a stellar season for Duquesne before entering the transfer portal.
Her field goal percentage leaves a lot to be desired (35.7 percent), but she was heavily relied upon early, causing opposing teams to key in on her.
The talent is definitely there, and she could provide instant offense for the Hawkeyes off the bench next season.
Charlotte Tuhy, forward (American)

2025-2025 season stats (30 games): 12.0 points, 11.3 rebounds, 41.2% FG
It is very hard to average a double-double during a season, especially as a freshman, but that is exactly what Charlotte Tuhy did for American last season.
Tuhy was a force for the Eagles last season in the paint and on the glass, something Jan Jensen highly values.
She could pair nicely with Ava Heiden, or if McKenna Woliczko is immediately ready to start next season, she would be an excellent option off the bench with her size and rebounding ability.
Essence Cody, forward (Alabama)

2025-2026 season stats (27 games): 11.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.1 steals, 56.4% FG, 37.1% 3P
Alabama transfer forward Essence Cody could give Iowa a dimension they have not had in the past: a post player who can stretch the defense past the three-point line.
Last season for the Crimson Tide in a primarily reserve role, she did most of her damage in the paint and took only a few three-pointers, but she was efficient when she did.
She would be a solid backup for whoever ends up being Iowa's starting power forward, or she could spell Ava Heiden at the center spot, along with Layla Hays.
