Quenton DeCosey is Temple’s best player.  He’s a 6’5″ 205 pound senior and when he goes, so does Temple.  He averages nearly 16 points per contest, to go along with six rebounds.

He is a big, strong, athletic guard that has the ability to shoot outside and take the ball to the rim.  He seems to be the motor that makes this Temple team go, and when he is clicking, so are the Owls.

In 21 Temple wins this season, he had a slash line of 42/40/80, but in the 11 losses, he posted a 36/29/68 slash line.  So, as you can see, when he is on and scoring, Temple usually plays well.  He scored in double figures in 29 of Temple’s 32 games and scored 20 or more points in nine of those contests.

He was outstanding in November and January, but in four games played in March, he is shooting just 29 percent from the field and 18 percent from three point range.

The Owls were the one-seed heading into the American Athletic Conference tournament, but were bounced on Saturday against the future tourney champs, the Connecticut Huskies.

If Iowa can’t figure out a way to at least slow DeCousey down, they could be in for a long day.  He is a shot maker and has the ability to take anyone off the dribble and get to the basket.
