For the third straight season, the Iowa Basketball team finds themselves in the NCAA Tournament.  And for the second straight year, they draw a seven seed.  They’ll face the Temple Owls on Friday afternoon inside the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.

It’s been a long time coming for the Iowa Hawkeyes.  As a fan base, we struggled through the Lickliter years and through the first couple years of Fran McCaffery’s tenure.  But the Hawks have always gotten better under Fran.

I knew it was a long time, but that is a lot longer that I had expected.

As bad as this slide has been to end the year, Iowa has come a long way as a program and has a really nice chance to make a big impact in this tournament.

But enough about the Hawkeyes, lets get to their opponent on Friday, the Temple Owls.
