No. 3 – TOREN YOUNG

Young is an absolute monster and a lot of Hawkeye fans were worried when he first committed that Iowa would lose him.  Especially seeing as he committed so early in the process. The Monona Grove, WI product put up video game like numbers as a Rivals rated three star prospect.  He ran the ball 333 times for 2,779 yards, and 30 touchdowns.  That’s an average of 232 yards per game and 8.3 per carry.

Wow.

Young will without a doubt redshirt considering Iowa has three running backs that would be in front of him in Akrum Wadley, Leshun Daniels, and Derrick Mitchell.  There would be no reason for Young not to redshirt honestly.

When he runs, it’s with a purpose.  He hits the hole about as hard as he can every single time.  He isn’t excessively fast, but he’ll get faster as he gets bigger and stronger, so that isn’t a worry at all.  He won’t shy away from contact at all and seems to possess really good vision.

As Wadley, Daniels, and Mitchell get older and graduate, it’ll be Young leading the charge at the running back spot with Toks Akinribade not too far behind.
