Ever since entering the league in 2024, fans across the country have shown up in waves to watch the superstar play in person or tune in to watch her on television, and it is no coincidence that the WNBA put every Indiana Fever game on a national broadcast. Even with all the off-court drama that has surrounded her and the league, Clark has continued to bring eyeballs to the WNBA, and everyone is better for it.
League viewership is up across the board thanks to Clark, Indiana
Clark was sidelined for most of the 2025 season due to a variety of injuries, and even with a lingering back issue, she has suited up for most of the Fever's games to date. We have seen her put up historic performance after historic performance as she continues to tune out the outside noise and play an astonishing brand of basketball that very few can. When Clark is on the court, fans are going to watch, and it is no coincidence that ABC, ESPN, and overall league viewership have jumped from last season.

The August 8 Chicago Sky-Indiana Fever game had an AVERAGE of 2.6 million viewers on ABC, the second-most-watched WNBA game this season behind, you guessed it, another Indiana Fever game (3.1 million average viewers against the Aces). Despite their best attempts to downplay Clark's significance, the WNBA made a great decision to keep her and the Fever on national television at all times. WNBA games are averaging 1.2 million viewers through 19 games on ABC and ESPN this season, up five percent from last year.
Viewership league-wide has also increased, with an average of 776,000 viewers through August 5, which is up 15 percent. Regardless of how a lot of opposing fans and teams feel towards her, there is no denying that Clark continues to be a massive draw for the league. The haters will never fully give her the credit, but she is a major reason why the Fever have been so fun to watch this season. Star guard Kelsey Mitchell is having a career year on the offensive end, averaging a team-leading 24.3 points per game, while Clark is second in points per game (21.7) and first in assists per game (8.2). It isn't a surprise that the Fever are averaging a WNBA-best 96.2 points per game so far this season, and they are doing it in dominating fashion.
The Fever are putting up 100-point games at a historic pace and will be a force to be reckoned with in the postseason. Everything is going right for the Fever, and that is great news for the WNBA, which keeps finding itself in a new controversy every week. When Clark and the Fever are good, the league can sit back and relax, knowing it will probably smash a viewership record, as more and more fans continue to hop on the WNBA train.
