Selection Sunday is just days away, and the Hawkeyes are back home on their couches waiting to hear their name called.
After Ohio State bounced Iowa out of the Big Ten Tournament in the third round, its fate is now in the hands of the selection committee.
Iowa currently holds a 21-12 (10-10 Big Ten) record, and went from a sure-fire NCAA team to sweating where they might end up.
No one can take away from what the Hawkeyes have done this season after a quick turnaround after Fran McCaffery was fired last March, and despite a subpar 10-game stretch, ESPN believes they have still done enough to make the field.
According to ESPN, Iowa "has probably done enough" to make the NCAA Tournament
The Big Ten is loaded once again this season and is projected to receive nine bids to the Big Dance when it is all said and done.
The Hawkeyes are hoping to be one of those nine teams, and despite losing seven of their last 10 games, ESPN believes they will be one of the 68 teams in the postseason.
According to ESPN's Neil Paine, Iowa is one of his three teams that "should be in" thanks to its rigorous schedule.
Iowa's resume ranks in the top 40 nationally, and even though they have dropped seven of 10, most of those losses have been to Quad 1 opponents.
Paine also noted that despite Iowa's recent struggles, they still have an over 90 percent chance of receiving an at-large bid.
The Hawkeyes didn't sink so low that they will be sweating it out on Selection Sunday, and according to Paine, they have "probably done enough" to make the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2022-2023 season.
