The Iowa Men's Basketball program had some of their most productive seasons in the Fran McCaffery era from 2018 to 2022.

During those four seasons, the Hawkeyes had a 91-42 record with three NCAA Tournament appearances, and a Big Ten Tournament Championship (2022).

A large part of Iowa's success during that time was due to star players Luka Garza and Keegan Murray.

Garza and Murray were both consensus First Team All-Americans, and guided the Iowa program to unprecedented heights during McCaffery's tenure with the Hawkeyes.

Both players are now playing professional basketball in the NBA, but were named to the 2020s All-Big Ten Teams by "College Basketball Report."

Murray was named to the 2020s All-Big Ten First Team and Garza was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team.

Murray played only two seasons for the Hawkeyes, but his star potential was evident from the minute he stepped on the court at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Murray was Garza's backup as a freshman (2020-2021), but scored 7.2 points, 5.1 rebounds per game, and earned four starts.

When it was Murray's turn to be the star for the Hawkeyes after Garza graduated, he did not disappoint.

During his sophomore season, Murray averaged 23.5 points and 8.7 rebounds per game, and was named consensus All-Big Ten First Team and All-American First Team selections.

Murray is entering his fourth NBA season and has averaged 13.3 points and 5.4 rebounds per game in his career, all with the Sacramento Kings.

Luka Garza is considered to be one of the top Iowa Men's Basketball players of all time. Garza had to work hard to become a full-time starter for the Hawkeyes, and his hard work paid off.

During his junior season (2019-2020), Garza averaged 23.9 points and 9.8 rebounds, earning unanimous First Team All-Big Ten and First Team All-American selections, as well as being named the Big Ten Player of the Year and the National Player of the Year.

His senior season was equally dominant, as he averaged 24.1 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. Garza was again named the Big Ten Player of the Year and earned a unanimous Player of the Year selection.

Garza is the Iowa's only two-time Big Ten and National Player of the Year recipient, and set the program records for most career points (2,306) and points in a single season (747).

Garza is entering his fifth NBA season, the first with the Boston Celtics, and has averaged 4.9 points and 2.0 rebounds in his professional career.

Murray and Garza are worthy selections for 2020s All-Big Ten teams, but Garza should have made the first team with his dominance during his final two seasons.
