Jan Jensen's second season at the helm was full of memorable moments until the squad ultimately collapsed early in the NCAA Tournament.
Nothing should be taken away from Iowa's solid season, and even though it did not finish the way most people wanted, it does not diminish everything that was accomplished.
Iowa finished the season with a 27-7 (15-3 Big Ten) overall record, good for second place in the regular season, and they also finished as runners-up in the Big Ten Conference Tournament.
Just ahead of the NCAA Women's Final Four, two Hawkeyes earned All-American Honorable Mentions, a double-edged sword for the program.
Ava Heiden and Hannah Stuelke were named WBCA All-American Honorable Mentions
Jan Jensen's offensive strategy was very apparent throughout most of the season. Get the ball inside to one of the talented post players, and let them do the rest.
It is no surprise that both of Iowa's top players are post players, and they are being recognized for their accomplishments this season.

Center Ava Heiden and forward Hannah Stuelke earned All-American Honorable Mention honors from the Women's Basketball Coaching Association (WBCA) just before the end of the 2025-2026 season.
Heiden led the Hawkeyes in points (18.0), blocks (1.3), and field goal percentage (64.1) this season, and was second to Stuelke in rebounds per game with 7.2.
Stuelke averaged a near-double-double this season with 13.4 points and 9.0 rebounds per game, while also adding 2.9 assists per game.
Earning an All-American nod is no small thing, but it further underscores how much further Iowa should have gone this season.
Outside of the women's college basketball blue-bloods, it is hard to find a team with multiple All-American selections, and it makes Iowa's season look like a missed opportunity.
Jan Jensen and the Hawkeyes are now in full offseason mode and have some roster questions to solve before next season.
