The injury bug has bitten Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark once again, giving the organization and Fever fans flashbacks of last season.
Throughout her entire amateur career, Clark was on the court at all times, but that all changed during the 2025 season. Clark suffered a myriad of lower-body and back injuries that sidelined her for a majority of the season, limiting her to just 13 games. Heading into the 2026 season, Clark felt 100 percent and was ready to return to the level she was at during her rookie season in 2024.
Unfortunately for Clark and the Fever, she is sidelined once again.
Clark was ruled out for the Fever's next game vs. the Los Angeles Sparks with a back injury
Clark was off to a hot start, averaging a career high 21.2 points per game, and leading her team in assists at 8.2 per game. After an extremely physical series against the Phoenix Mercury, where the two squads matched up in back-to-back games, Clark's nagging back issues popped up once again.
BREAKING: Fever head coach Stephanie White announced Caitlin Clark (back) will be out for Saturday's game against the Sparks.

Clark got beaten up during the Phoenix two-game series, including an extremely controversial no-call against Alyssa Thomas when she put her fist on Clark's throat, and now she won't suit up for a weekend home game.
Indiana head coach Stephanie White announced that Clark will not play in the Fever's next game against the Los Angeles Sparks on Saturday, June 27, due to a back injury, but the most concerning portion of the announcement was Clark's return timetable. White would not commit to a timeframe, instead saying that she will be out for an "undetermined amount" of time.
White's announcement is nightmare fuel for the organization and Fever fans, coming after dealing with the same issue last season. The Fever proved they can survive without Clark, showcased during their improbable postseason run last year, but losing their top scorer and playmaker is not easy. Luckily for the Fever, they have a solid stretch of no games next week, and after taking on the Sparks at home on Saturday, they don't play again until July 5.
That gives Clark ample time to rest and recover from her back injury, and hopefully, it is just a tweak and nothing more serious. The Fever have one of the best offenses in the WNBA this season, but without Clark on the court, that is definitely going to take a hit. In order to stay afloat and relevant in the playoff picture, Clark must be on the court.
