If there is one player the Iowa program loves to recruit outside of wrestlers, it's legacy players.

Iose Epensa and Mason Woods are prime examples of players on the current Iowa roster whose parents played or coached for the program.

Epenesa is the son of former Hawkeye Eppy Epenesa and the younger brother of former Hawkeye and current Buffalo Bills star A.J. Epenesa.

Woods is the son of former Hawkeye player and coach LeVar Woods, who recently left the program for Michigan State.

The program has recently focused on recruiting on the offensive side of the football and has made an offer to a rising 2027 quarterback prospect with family ties to Iowa Football.

QB Jake Nawrot is the latest quarterback to recieve and offer from Iowa

2027 quarterback prospect Jake Nawrot has been quickly rising up recruiting boards, and after a conversation with offensive coordinator Tim Lester, received an offer from the Hawkeyes.

247Sports has currently ranked Nawrot as a three-star prospect, Illinois' No. 14 overall prospect, and the No. 22 overall quarterback prospect in the 2027 recruiting class, but that is likely to change.

Nawrot has been one of the biggest risers over the past year, racking up multiple offers from Power Four programs, including Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Washington, and Wisconsin, among many others.

Nawrot is currently a junior at Hersey High School in Arlington Heights, Illinois, and had a productive season for the Huskies' offense.

He threw for 3,078 yards and 41 touchdowns last season and is very interested in the program, as his father, Paul Nawrot, also played for the football team.

Paul was a linebacker for the Hawkeye football program from 1995 through 1997.

Jake's sister, Leah Nawrot, also attends the University of Iowa and is a member of the Iowa women's rowing team.

The Hawkeyes are high on Nawrot's list, and he would be an excellent addition to a blossoming quarterback room.
