After missing out on one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2027 recruiting class, the Hawkeyes are still searching for a QB to add to a blossoming class.
Iowa was in the final running for Jake Nawrot, the No. 2 overall quarterback in the class, but after he committed to Kentucky, the program was forced to pivot.
The program has added multiple talented prospects to the 2027 class over the past few months, and with no quarterbacks currently committed, the Hawkeyes went into SEC country to change that.
QB prospect Brodie Campbell could give the Hawkeyes another pure gunslinger
Since taking over as the offensive coordinator, Tim Lester has brought a new dimension to the Iowa offense that hinges on the quarterback's ability to do multiple things.
He has moved the program away from a pure pocket passer at the quarterback to one that is more mobile, showcased by Mark Gronowski in 2025.
While the passing attack has shown flashes, it hasn't been nearly good enough, but with one gunslinger already on board in Tradon Bessinger via the 2026 class, another one could be on the way.

2027 quarterback prospect Brodie Campbell announced he received an offer from the Hawkeyes, and he brings elite arm talent and touch at the position.
Campbell has been racking up the D1 offers lately, and it's easy to see why.
Campbell had a productive junior year last season and showcased his ability to make every throw. He showed great accuracy on the run as well as in the intermediate and deep passing game, and can fit the ball into tight windows.
While he didn't show an ability to be a true dual-threat, he did show the ability to make accurate throws on the run, and he can take off when the play breaks down.
Rivals currently ranks Campbell as a three-star prospect, Georgia's No. 33 overall prospect, and the No. 33 overall quarterback prospect in the 2027 class.
