The Iowa Women's Basketball team is going dancing! The Hawkeyes watched intently as they were selected as a six-seed heading into the 2025 Division I NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament. The announcement was made during the Selection Sunday Show on March 16.

The Hawkeyes watched the Selection Show as a team and could not have been happier with another NCAA Tournament berth.

Iowa learned they are heading to Norman, Oklahoma, for their Round One matchup versus 11-seed Murray State.

The Hawkeyes never got close to falling out of the projected tournament field, but they earned a tough six-versus-11 matchup after a slow start, and a five-game January losing streak knocked them off course.

However, Iowa responded well to the adversity and won seven of ten games to finish the regular season. They also won their first two games of the Big Ten Tournament to secure the six seed.

Iowa fans nationwide are excited to see the Hawkeyes in the NCAA Tournament once again and took to social media to express their excitement.

Former Iowa Hawkeyes Women's Basketball guard Tania Davis quickly responded after the Hawkeyes learned they were in the field.

Davis was a staple of the program between 2015-2018 and expressed her excitement for her former team in all capital letters.

Iowa has a difficult region to get through to make another run at a title, but Hawkeye fans are convinced they can do it. It would take a run of biblical proportions to get through USC, UConn, Oklahoma, and Kentucky in their region, but Iowa fans have faith.

Iowa Hawkeye fans are spread nationwide and travel well when the Hawkeyes are on the road. Local Oklahoma Iowa fans are ecstatic they can watch their Hawkeyes in their area and have the opportunity to watch the Tournament in person.

The "one game at a time" speech is often reserved for coaches when they speak to the media. During March Madness, it is single elimination, so coaches and fans alike share this mentality.

The pieces are there for the Iowa Women's Basketball team to make a deep run in March. They must execute on both ends of the floor and not overlook their opponents. Murray State is no slouch, and Iowa must come out strong to advance in the tournament.

Six-versus-11 matchups are always toss-ups in the NCAA Tournament, and there are frequent upsets in these matchups. Iowa cannot overlook a tough Murray State team in Round One.
