There is no explanation for why people have been so late to jump on the Luka Garza hype train, but everyone is finally starting to catch on.
After spending most of the past three seasons buried on the Minnesota Timberwolves' depth chart, Garza finally got a change of scenery and another chance with a new organization.
In the offseason before the 2025-2026 season, the Celtics announced they signed Garza to a guaranteed two-year, $5.5 million deal.
At the time, the signing was viewed as a purely depth move by the Celtics, who traded Kristaps Porzingis and lost Al Horford in free agency.
Now the signing looks like a steal for the Celtics, and they are as excited as we are.
The Celtics released a short video promoting Garza's fit with the organization

After unfairly rotting in the G-League, Garza is finally getting his chance, and he is making the most of it.
In the video, Garza said Boston feels like where he is supposed to be, and he fits in really well with the guys.
Garza also mentioned that he appreciates the culture the Celtics' organization is trying to create, and that is evident by how hard he works to make an impact wherever he can.
Luka is averaging career highs in most statistical categories this season, including minutes (16.6), points (7.7), rebounds (4.3), field goal percentage (58.6), three-point percentage (44.1), and free-throw percentage (80.0).
Garza's 44.1 three-point percentage is second on the Celtics.
It remains to be seen if Garza's minutes will be affected by the Celtics recent acquisition of center Nikola Vucevic in a trade with the Chicago Bulls, but for now, the Celtics are happy to have Garza.
