The Iowa passing attack came to life in a dominating win over UMass last Saturday.

Despite the continued problem with drops, quarterback Mark Gronowski and the Iowa receivers were clicking all night as they were able to hit multiple big passing plays throughout the night.

Senior wide receiver Seth Anderson was on the receiving end of two Gronowski touchdown passes, notching his first two touchdowns of the year in one game.

After a strong showing by the Iowa offense, Anderson stated it was a big confidence booster for the group to be able to stretch the field and hit on some big plays.

Anderson is sure that confidence will carry into their game against Rutgers this Friday.

During his media availability this week, Anderson spoke about their preparation and how they are getting ready for Rutgers on a short week.

Anderson stated that having their game against Rutgers on a short week "worked out perfectly" because they run a similar defense to UMass.

UMass Head Coach Joe Harasymiak was the former defensive coordinator for Rutgers before taking over at UMass, and the defensive schemes that both teams run are very similar.

The similarities between the two systems has given the Hawkeyes a head start on preparations for Friday's game.

Outside of in-game adjustments, Anderson is confident that the Iowa offense will be able to make explosive plays against Rutgers because of the defensive scheme they run.

The Iowa offense struggled to find consistency over the first two weeks against Albany and Iowa State. After a solid performance against UMass, we hope it was a barometer of what is to come and not an outlier for the offense.
