The 2025 Big Ten Baseball Tournament is right around the corner. It begins on Tuesday, May 20, from Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska, and runs through Sunday, May 25.
Iowa Baseball learned it will be a three-seed in the tournament after dropping the final two series of the season. Oregon and UCLA split a share of the Big Ten Title, with Oregon earning the No. 1 overall seed on a tiebreaker.
The Hawkeyes have had a great season in year 12 under Manager Rick Heller. Iowa finished the regular season with a 32-20-1 record (21-9 Big Ten). Under Heller, the Hawkeyes have won at least 30 games every season, excluding the COVID-19-shortened 2020 season.
Iowa had a great March and April, winning eight consecutive conference series and holding the top spot in the standings until the end of the season. They lost five of six games to end the season and had a tie against Oregon State.
After the season concluded, the Big Ten Tournament bracket was set.
This tournament is the first to incorporate pool play into the bracket. There are four pools, with three teams in each pool. The winners of each pool will move on to the single-elimination round on May 24. If there is a tie, the highest-seeded team will advance to the elimination game.
The 12-team tournament will decide who earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
No. 3 Iowa takes on No. 10 Rutgers in the final game on day two of the tournament on Wednesday, May 21, at 6:00 p.m. Central Time
Every tournament game will air on the Big Ten Network, or you can stream the games on the Fox Sports App.
