It seems everyone has Caitlin Clark on their minds lately, furthering the media circus that constantly surrounds the former Hawkeye and current Indiana Fever star.
The WNBA has a major Clark problem that they refuse to address, especially after multiple recent controversies involving her. They inexplicably left her off the 30th-anniversary poster in a bizarre marketing move, followed by doing nothing after another controversy involving Phoenix Mercury star Alyssa Thomas. Thomas put her fist on Clark's throat, and not only was there nothing called, but the league also had to step in a day later to punish Thomas for the play.
It has been a wild few weeks for Clark, and certain media members are making it even worse.
Samuel Acho's ploy to stay relevant at Clark's expense is absolutely ludicrous
After the Clark-Thomas incident last week, everyone is jumping into the fray to offer their opinions, and while most have focused on facts or known items, some media members have taken it even further.
Boomer Esiason made it about race and sexuality, Chiney Ogwumike, who has a history of spewing vitriol towards the Fever and Clark, tried gaslighting us into believing the incident is being blown out of proportion, and now former Fox Sports analyst Samuel Acho has made an even wilder take.

In a rant that he branded as criticism over the "coddling and catering" Clark receives from the media, Acho further proved why he is no longer on television. He stated that she did what only Clark could do, but now that the league has more eyes on it, it no longer needs her. He said thank you, but we can handle it from here. Sorry, but who is the "we" you are referring to? He has never been the first person anyone has asked about the WNBA, but he now wants to jump into the discussion. Acho, kindly see yourself out.
He followed that ludicrous statement by claiming that Clark is more of a distraction than an additive, and now that we have realized there is talent in the league, there's even more talent out there than Clark. It is more ironic than anything that he criticizes the media circus surrounding Clark, but then jumps in to give his opinion, adding more fuel to the fire.
Acho needs to promptly see himself out of the Clark conversation
Acho speaking about Caitlin Clark would be like someone off the street going into a hospital and telling a surgeon how to perform a surgery. He has absolutely zero clue, and he isn't the only one. Esiason calling for Clark to leave the league because she is "straight and white" and Ogwumike demonizing Clark for "embellishing calls" are further proof that the league has a problem that must be addressed.
It is one thing not to put her on a poster, but completely ignoring the elephant in the room is not a viable solution either. If the league wants the talk to go away, then they have to step up and answer the tough questions. A prime example is after the Clark-Thomas incident occurred, and the media circus ramped up, long-time radio host Dan Patrick reached out to the league for any kind of comment, and they didn't receive a response.
Now, "experts" like Acho and Ogwumike are trying to make us believe the league bends over backward for Clark and does whatever she wants. The league must get out in front of this and make a statement to quell the fire, or analysts like Acho will continue to inject their wild opinions into the narrative.
At the base, Clark generates millions of dollars in revenue for the league, and there is a reason the WNBA put all of her games on national broadcasts this season. Saying the league is "better off without" her is a wild take and just another in a growing number of bad takes that are focused on Clark.
