Return specialist Kaden Wetjen has taken his game to a whole new level this season.
Wetjen was primarily a special teams player when he first arrived in Iowa City as a walk-on after playing for Iowa Western Community College.
This season, the speedster from Williamsburg, Iowa, has made a big impact not only on special teams but on offense as well.
Wetjen is the only player in Iowa program history to record a punt return, a kick return, a receiving touchdown, and a rushing touchdown in the same season.
Through Iowa's 11 games this season, Wetjen has tallied 151 receiving yards and a touchdown on offense, while also tallying 894 total return yards (538 punt, 356 kick) and four touchdowns this season.
Last season, Wetjen finished with 1,055 total return yards (727 kick, 328 punt) and two total return touchdowns (one kick, one punt) en route to being named the 2024 recipient of the Jet Award.
With only two games left this season, Wetjen has been named a finalist for the award once again.

Texas' Ryan Niblett
Notre Dame's Jadarian Price
South Carolina's Vicari Swain
Iowa's Kaden Wetjen
According to On3 Sports' Brett McMurphy, Wetjen is one of five finalists for the 2025 Jet Award that will be presented after the season concludes.
If Wetjen can capture another Jet Award, it would be his second consecutive season earning the award, and he would become the first-ever two-time recipient.
The Jet Award is presented annually to the best return specialist in college football and has been presented every year since 2011.
Wetjen has more return touchdowns this season (four) than he did last season (two) and should be a lock for the award once again.
