With one year of eligibility remaining, Tony Perkins entered the Transfer Portal on March 26th, leaving a hole at guard for the Iowa Hawkeyes heading into the 2024-25 season next year.

Perkins had a strong season in his final stint with the Hawkeyes averaging 14 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game and earning 2nd-Team All-Big Ten honors. Though the Hawkeyes fell short of an NCAA Tournament bid, Perkins was a key piece in Iowa's offensive attack. As a result, Perkins had several options available to him once he entered the Transfer Portal.

While he's not the most heavily sought-after player in the portal, he ranks No. 42 on On3's portal rankings and No. 38 on 247Sports' board, he is going to continue his career with a Power 5 conference. He announced through On3's Joe Tipton Wednesday that he has narrowed his list of potential schools down to six.

Two Big Ten schools are on the list: Indiana and Oregon. The Hoosiers also missed the NCAA Tournament this past season and opted out of the NIT. However, the 6-foot-4 senior is from Indianapolis, so a return to the area would make some sense.

Oregon joins the Big Ten next season after winning their first-round matchup with South Carolina in the NCAA Tournament this year.

The remainder of his options are also in the SEC: Arkansas, Missouri, Ole Miss and Oklahoma.

The only school Perkins has reportedly visited is Missouri, which failed to win an SEC game last year. The Tigers had just two non-mid major wins in 2023, both before December against Minnesota and Pittsburgh.

While 247Sports doesn't have a crystal ball projection for Perkins yet, On3 has a 100% lock for Perkins to join the Missouri Tigers.

Perkins would be a real shot in the arm for Missouri should it be his next home and would figure to be their top weapon after such a disastrous 2023-24 campaign.
