Distraction to the team from the media

Raise your hand if you just started watching the WNBA this season after Clark was drafted into the league. Raise your hand if you planned on watching Clark play for Team USA in the Olympics, but now don't want to because she isn't on the roster.

Women's basketball has never gotten this much media attention and it is wrong because they deserve it with how hard they work. However, ever since Caitlin Clark, these women have had more media attention, more games streamed on bigger networks and more benefits from the league.

It would be refreshing to have seen the amount of media attention the women's team would have gotten with Clark on the roster because it would have been deserved. It still is deserved even without her on the roster, but it in no way would have been a distraction. The women on that team would probably have liked more recognition and not viewed it as a distraction.
