It is just another Thursday which means Caitlin Clark is breaking yet another record. If there is a nickname anyone can give Clark, it is the record-breaker because any record that stands in her way has no chance against her.
In the Fever's 31st game of the season, Clark shot 3-for-12 in their win over the Connecticut Sun Wednesday night. With 7:17 left in the first quarter, Clark hit a step-back three to take the record and pass Rhyne Howard.
Howard held the record with 85 three-pointers in a season for a rookie. It took Clark not even a full season to take that record for herself and she still has quite a few games to go. She finished the game with 88 three-pointers on the season and counting.
Clark has had a great season so far as a rookie for the Fever. It has not been smooth sailing the whole way, but she is holding her own among the pros. She leads the WNBA in assists with 252 and is ranked eighth in points with 558.
This is yet another record for Clark that she adds to the lists. Clark already holds the record for most assists in a season by a rookie, and most assists in a game in the WNBA, and was the first rookie to ever record a triple-double.
Heading into the WNBA, Iowa fans knew Clark was going to make a mark in her first season. Hawkeye fans saw up close and personal what Clark could do day in and day out and never doubted that she could be able to do this in the pros.
Clark is currently leading her team to a playoff appearance after two seasons of losing and having the number one overall pick. This is a young team around Clark, but she is playing with a veteran presence and it is showing with each record she breaks.
