The postseason is here for the Iowa Hawkeyes women's basketball team. While the aspirations are high in Iowa City as the program looks to send Caitlin Clark off to the WNBA with a national championship, there is still one bit of business to handle first.

The Big Ten Tournament bracket is set and got underway Wednesday. Iowa is the No. 2 seed and is enjoying a double BYE before seeing their first action in Minneapolis.

The Hawkeyes await the winner of the second-round matchup between the No. 10-seed Wisconsin Badgers and the No. 7 Penn State Nittany Lions. Iowa beat Wisconsin in both meetings in the 2023 season, winning the first 87-65 in December and the second 96-50 in January. The Hawkeyes also handled business against the Nittany Lions in early February at home winning 111-93.

Of course, led by superstar Caitlin Clark, the Hawkeyes have the goods to win the Big Ten Tournament after falling short of the regular season conference championship. Still, the team is riding high after a 93-83 win over the regular season Big Ten champs, Ohio State, to close the regular season. In that game, Clark became the all-time leading scorer in NCAA Division-1 basketball history.

Alongside the record-setting achievements of Clark, her teammates played a huge role in the win just as they have all season, particularly in the pairing of Gabbie Marshall and Hannah Stuelke. With a strong supporting cast, the Hawkeyes should make a deep run in the Big Ten Tournament before turning their attention to the ultimate prize in the NCAA Tournament.

Iowa tips off against Wisconsin or Penn State at 5:30 p.m. CST Friday, March 8 from the Target Center in Minneapolis. The game will air on the Big Ten Network and the FOX Sports App with a TV provider login.
