Big Ten Tournament bracket 2024: How to watch the Iowa Hawkeyes
The Big Ten Tournament is here and it is the Iowa Hawkeye's last saving grace. The Hawkeyes finished the season 18-13, and 10-10 in the Big Ten. The most recent release of Joe Lunardi's Bracketology has Iowa as a "Next Four Out" team.
The seven-seeded Hawkeyes are set to take on 10-seed Ohio State in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament. Iowa played Ohio State in early February getting the close 79-77 win. In their last 10 games of the regular season, the Hawkeyes went 6-4, losing to No. 12 Illinois twice, but also upsetting No. 20 Wisconsin.
The Hawkeyes can kiss their March Madness hope goodbye if they do not win this first game in the Big Ten Tournament. The bad news for the Hawkeyes is that if they win this game, they will have another date with Illinois in the Quarterfinals. The Hawkeyes lost by 12 points in their most recent loss to Illinois and 10 points in their first meeting.
A win over Ohio State could move the Hawkeyes to the "First Four Out" category, which still doesn't get them the bid, but this is called March Madness after all. If Iowa could move on and beat Illinois, I think that would be their ticket to the NCAA Tournament.
