Iowa Baseball was flying high entering Sunday's series finale against the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The Hawkeyes beat the Cornhuskers 1-0 and 11-6 in the first two games. Pitching and defense led the way in game one, and the Iowa bats woke up in game two.
The Hawkeyes sent Reece Beuter to the mound to try and get the series sweep.

The wind was blowing out at Duane Banks Field as the Hawkeyes battled the Cornhuskers in the final game of their weekend series. The Hawkeye bats aimed to stay hot after their 11-6 victory on Satruday.
Beuter came out strong for the Hawkeyes and did not allow a run through the first two innings. Iowa jumped on the board first in the second inning after a Jackson Beaman run-scoring double. The Huskers would respond in the top of the third inning.
Nebraska launched a solo home run to tie the game 1-1, and would add two more runs on solo home runs in the fourth inning.
Iowa would answer in the bottom of the fourth inning after driving in a run on a sacrifice fly. The Hawkeyes would take the lead 4-3 after scoring a run in the bottom of the seventh inning. Nebraska would respond quickly, scoring two runs in the top of the eight to take a 5-4 lead.
The Cornhuskers would add another run in the top of the ninth inning and won 6-4.
The Hawkeyes could not take advantage of their opportunities. They had eight hits, but left 11 runners stranded on base. Head Coach Rick Heller said this after the game:
