Iowa Men's Basketball senior forward Payton Sandfort continues to add to his storied Iowa career. Entering the 2024-2025 season, Sandfort was ranked as the 47-best overall player by ESPN and one of the best sharpshooters in the NCAA. He was also named to the Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year preseason watchlist.
It was announced Tuesday that Sandfort was named an Honorable Mention to the All-Big Ten Team.

The Waukee, Iowa native was named an Honorable Mention after he averaged 16.3 points and 6.4 rebounds per game this season. Both rank second on the team.
Sandfort is no stranger to earning recognition on the basketball court. This is his third award at Iowa after earning the Big Ten Sixth Man of the Year award in 2022 as a sophomore and an All-Big Ten Third Team award in 2023 as a junior.
Sandfort surpassed 1,500 career points on February 22 and currently sits at 1,572 total points. He ranks 13th on Iowa's all-time scoring list, six points behind former Hawkeye great Adam Haluska. He also sits third on Iowa's all-time list for three-pointers made at 261, one three behind Jeff Hoerner for second all-time.
After all his accomplishments this season, Sandfort became one of only two Hawkeyes in history to have 1,500-plus points, 500-plus rebounds, and 250-plus made three-point baskets.
He will look to add to those totals on Wednesday, March 12, as the 15-seed Iowa Hawkeyes travel to Indianapolis to take on the 10-seed Ohio State Buckeyes in Round One of the Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament.
