Legendary Kinnick Stadium played host to one of the top college football games of the year over the weekend.
Even though it was cold and rainy in Iowa City, fans stuck around to see the No. 20 Iowa Hawkeyes battle the No. 9 Oregon Ducks, and they were treated to a drama-filled contest.
Oregon's defense came out strong, forcing four punts on Iowa's five offensive drives in the first half. The Ducks took a 12-7 lead into halftime, but then things got spicy.
Iowa was able to keep the game close by hitting an early field goal and keeping Oregon off the scoreboard.
It was 15-10 in the late stages of the game when Mark Gronowski put together a stellar drive. The offense ate up nearly seven minutes of the fourth quarter and scored a touchdown to go up 16-15.
After a failed two-point conversion, it was up to the defense to stop Oregon, but they failed to do so. The Ducks hit a late field goal, sinking Iowa at home and eliminating any chance of a CFP berth.
The game was played in front of a sold-out crowd, and as Iowa continues to play well at home, Kinnick has become a must-see venue for all college football fans.
An absolute must-see for every CFB fan. Doesn’t appear on as many top 10 lists as it should, but one of the best places to enjoy this sport. pic.twitter.com/7tbWdUsYZL

ESPN senior college football writer Adam Rittenberg has been with the sports media giant since 2008, and called Kinnick Stadium "an absolute must-see."
He also mentioned that Kinnick Stadium might not appear on many top-ten lists, but it should.
Rittenberg made the post on social media before the Iowa-Oregon game, and it could be the last time the Hawkeyes host a ranked team this season.
While the Hawkeyes ultimately lost the game, Kinnick Stadium got some love from one of the longest-tenured sports writers for ESPN.
