The annual One Day for Iowa donation drive has been completed, and the final numbers have been tallied. During this one day (March 26), the University of Iowa opens an online portal to accept donations for 24 hours.

This year's donation drive added a new element. One Day for Iowa added the Athletics Giving Challenge to allow Hawkeye fans to donate to specific teams. The teams engaged in a friendly competition to see who could receive the most money.

Coaches from every Hawkeye sport took to social media to encourage Hawkeye fans to donate to their team. New Iowa Men's Basketball Head Coach Ben McCollum also encouraged Hawkeye fans to go online and donate to their favorite organization.

The top three teams with the most individual donors at the end of the competition received prize money. The prize money consisted of a one-time donation from generous Hawkeye supporters. The organizations with the most donors were Men's Wrestling (532), Field Hockey (472), and Rowing (440).

The highest athletics-based donations went to Women's Basketball (38,374 dollars), Men's Wrestling (30,751 dollars), and Men's Basketball (27,891 dollars).

The online donation campaign raised over four million dollars for the University of Iowa programs and athletics. The total money donated was a record for the University of Iowa.

One Day for Iowa Athletics states the philanthropic support of Hawkeye athletics is more important now than it ever was. The donations are used to support the student-athlete experience by enhancing their opportunities at the University of Iowa.
