Iowa and Purdue was heavyweight fight on Wednesday night.
The Hawkeyes came in cold, losing back-to-back games, but gave the Boilermakers all they had in a closely-contested game.
Iowa held a slim three-point halftime lead, but could not hold onto it as Purdue overwhelmed them in the second half.
Iowa had a lot going for it, even though it ultimately wasn't enough, and Purdue head coach Matt Painter may have unintentionally sparked a new rivalry after comments he made postgame.
Painter threw shade at Iowa in his postgame comments
After the game, Big Ten sideline reporter Andy Katz caught up with Painter, and instead of giving Iowa props for taking his team to the wire, he decided to go a different route.

He told Katz that Iowa has a good team, then added, "They had maybe seven threes from non-three-point shooters, but give them credit."
There is no cause for taking a sarcastic shot at Iowa after they gave them all they could handle on Wednesday night, but implying that Iowa was lucky in the game is ludicrous.
The Hawkeyes finally came out hot and took a slim lead into halftime, but faltered in the second half. The squad still finished the game shooting 53 percent from the field and 48 percent from three-point range, but sure, Painter, it was all luck.
Fans are already irate that the refs seemingly handed the game to the Boilermakers with some questionable calls, and Painter just handed the Hawkeyes some bulletin board material for the next time the two teams meet in Iowa City on Valentine's Day.
Painter should thank the refs for the assist and stop taking sarcastic shots at Iowa after a great game between two good teams.
