After finding the perfect fit for the program last spring, Ben McCollum isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
McCollum accomplished things during his first season that most Iowa coaches haven't done in their entire careers, and it is no fluke.
Wherever McCollum goes, he wins, and that includes during his first season at the helm of the Hawkeyes.
He guided the program to its first Elite Eight since 1987, and even though the magical season stopped there, it set the bar extremely high for the future. With expectations climbing, who better to carry the legacy forward than the man who started it all?
McCollum put to rest any speculation about his future with a contract extension
After a wildly successful first season, McCollum's name continued to pop up in conversations for vacant head coaching positions.
North Carolina even attempted to bring him in, but he quickly shut that down.
Hawkeye fans can now rest even easier after McCollum and the University of Iowa are finalizing a long-term extension to keep him in Iowa City for the foreseeable future.

Rejoice, Hawkeye fans! McCollum isn't going anywhere.
According to ESPN's Pete Thamel, McCollum is finalizing a new six-year contract to keep him in Iowa City.
The details of the contract are still unknown, but this quiets any speculation on McCollum's future with the program.
Iowa made the right move, and now reportedly have their guy locked up for at least six more years.
The move makes Iowa a contender in not only the Big Ten but nationally as well, and if McCollum can continue to bring in the right guys, look out.
