March Madness is one of the best times of the year. For hardcore fans and casual watchers alike, March is dedicated to basketball. For 68 men's and women's college basketball teams, March is the most important month of the year.
Thirty-one of the 68 teams are determined by teams who win their conference tournament and earn an automatic bid. After the conference tournaments are finished and automatic bids are handed out, 37 additional teams are given bids to the tournament based on their resume.
The resumes are determined by the quality of wins and the game's location (home versus road or neutral site).
After compiling all the numbers and crunching the data, bracketologists predict who will advance to the tournament and where. On Friday, a long-time CBS bracketologist is searching for a new home.
After 14 years, my time at CBS has come to an end. It is the best job I ever had. I am grateful to have worked with so many people who are not just great at what they do, but great people too. I don’t know what is next for me yet, so stay tuned.
