What a journey it has been for super senior Kylie Feuerbach.
Feuerbach began her career in Ames before making the right decision to transfer to the Hawkeyes, but she faced massive adversity early-on in her Iowa tenure.
After playing in all 32 games for the Hawkeyes during the 2021-2022 season, she missed the entire 2022-2023 season after tearing the ACL in her right knee.
After spending the entire season on the shelf, she gained a new perspective and grew from the experience.
Even though her injury "wasn't ideal," she still had a phenomenal experience as a member of the Iowa Women's Basketball program.
Kylie wants to be remembered for how she responded to adversity
When she was asked during senior media availability this week about what she believes the Iowa fans will remember, she said she wants to be remembered for how she faced adversity and kept moving forward.
She went through everything you can think of, including transferring, spending time on the sideline with a season-ending injury, rehab, and becoming a leader. Still, she only wants to be remembered for her response to adversity.
Kylie is grateful for the time she spent in Iowa City, and while she knew she would definitely use at least one more season of eligibility, a sixth year has been "the cherry on top."
She also said that she does not care about individual awards, because the most important thing is that the team is winning.
Feuerbach has loved every minute with her teammates and coaches, and it's been really cool for her to see the continued development during her five years in Iowa City.
