After a short week of preparation and a Friday night game in New Jersey, the Hawkeyes are back home with a pivotal Homecoming game this weekend.

The Iowa offense picked up the defense in a shootout at SHI Stadium in Piscataway, matching Rutgers point-for-point during a dynamic first half.

Iowa's defense could not slow down Rutgers' offense through the first two quarters, as the Scarlet Knights used a balanced attack to put up 21 first-half points.

Lucky for the Hawkeyes, the offense continues to improve each week, and matched Rutgers' point output.

This week, the Hawkeyes welcome the red-hot Indiana Hoosiers to Kinnick Stadium fresh off their 63-10 drubbing of Illinois.

Curt Cignetti has the Hoosiers rolling, and Iowa Head Coach Kirk Ferentz has nothing but praise for the Indiana head man.

During his weekly press conference, Ferentz stated that Cignetti has really turned their program around, and it is "hard to find a weakness" with their program.

Ferentz stated they play well in all three phases of the game and have a great quarterback under center.

Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza has played like one of the best quarterbacks in college football this season and is a true dual-threat quarterback.

If he had a vote for the Heisman Trophy award winner, Ferentz stated it would be Mendoza for the way he has performed so far this season.

Not only does Indiana have a star quarterback, but it also has a stellar defense that just shut down Illinois' offense, allowing only 10 points to the Illini.

Ferentz stated they play a very aggressive style of defense, and the Iowa offense will have to be prepared for everything.

Iowa faces its toughest test so far this season on Saturday afternoon, and it will need to perform perfectly in all three phases to get a Homecoming victory against Indiana.
