Kaleb Johnson continues his historic season by setting yet another program record
If someone had said that Kaleb Johnson would have been the lead back and scored 21 rushing touchdowns in 2024, not a lot of people would have believed them, but Johnson probably would have said he did. It has been a magical season for Johnson as he got the starting job due to some injuries to other running backs, but made the most of it and became the shining light of the Iowa offense.
Johnson has been electric for the Iowa offense this season, especially with the rotation at the quarterback position. At times when it seemed like the Iowa offense could do anything, they could at least hand it off to Johnson and let him work his magic.

Even though this season has not gone the way the Hawkeyes would have liked it to go, Johnson is the bright spot. In today's game against Maryland, Johnson had 99 yards in the first quarter alone, which is great compared to having only 49 yards entirely against UCLA two weeks ago.
The great thing about Johnson's play today was the two-yard touchdown he scored against the Terrapins, which gave him 21 rushing touchdowns on the season, which is the most rushing touchdowns scored by a player in a single season at Iowa.
With the rest of the game to go today and one last game next week against Nebraska, Johnson has time to improve on his own record and put even more rushing touchdowns on the board for the Hawkeyes. Now, it should be noted that Johnson does have a total of 22 touchdowns on the season, as he also has one receiving touchdown on the season.
Congratulations, Kaleb Johnson, and thank you for being the one bright spot of the Iowa offense this season and all Iowa fans are begging you not to transfer at the end of the season.
