If there was one big theme from the 2026 NFL Draft, it is that the Pittsburgh Steelers LOVE drafting former Iowa Hawkeyes.
The Steelers and Hawkeyes obviously share the same colors, and after selecting two more former Iowa players during this year's draft, the organization now has seven total former Hawkeyes.
That is more than any other college team on their roster, and the story of how Kaden Wetjen found out he was drafted adds even more pizazz to the growing story.
Kaden Wetjen's golf game had to be cut short after he was heading to Pittsburgh
The Steelers selected Wetjen with the No. 121 overall pick in the fourth round of the Draft, interrupting his golf outing.
Kaden Wetjen got the call the Steelers were picking him at the golf course.

“I didn’t shank it into the pond after I got picked so everything’s going good.”
He’s on the call with us walking up 9.
Is he finishing the round?
“No, we’re going back to party now!”
According to Brooke Pryor, the Steelers beat reporter for ESPN, Wetjen learned Pittsburgh had selected him while he was on the golf course, and he had a hilarious response.
He said that he didn't "shank it into the pond" after he was picked, so he was doing pretty good.
Wetjen got the call while walking up to the ninth tee, and when asked if he was going to finish out the round, he said they cut it short to head back and party.
Wetjen was drafted higher than most expected, but the Steelers got a proven weapon in the return game.
He is first and foremost a return specialist, and giving the Steelers anything on offense is just a cherry on top at this point.
Wetjen is dynamic whenever he touches the ball in the return game, and with the starting quarterback still a mystery in Pittsburgh, they need all the help they can get across the field.
His casual response to being drafted does not diminish the fact that he will bring a new element to the Steelers' special teams unit, and they got a potential Devin Hester-like game breaker in the return game.
