It's safe to say that Kirk Ferentz doesn't really care who Iowa plays next season

Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz is not well known for his sense of humor, but he will often say funny things without even trying.

As spring practices continue, Ferentz and his squad are getting back into the normal football routines, and he is primarily focused on getting everyone ready for next season.

After finishing last season with a 9-4 (6-3 Big Ten) overall record, including an upset win in the ReliaQuest Bowl to close out the year, Iowa already learned its schedule for next season, and spoiler alert: Ferentz has no idea who's on it.

Ferentz 'didn't know' who they are playing because he doesn't care

To say Ferentz is singularly focused on what is happening internally with the program might be an understatement, because when asked about Iowa's Big Ten opponents, he could not stress enough how little he cares.

Even though he was probably dead serious, Ferentz's response to "The Hawkeye Report's" question about the schedule is pretty funny.

To say full disclosure: I didn't know who we were playing because I really don't care is the type of response everyone has come to expect from Ferentz, aligning with his philosophy of only worrying about the next game.

The heart of Iowa's schedule is not easy, featuring a game at Michigan, at home versus Ohio State, at Washington, and at Minnesota, so if Ferentz truly doesn't know, he will find out very quickly.

For now, Ferentz is only focused on player development and preparing his guys for the upcoming season, and he could not care less about the schedule that begins in September.
