While Iowa Wrestling is enjoying some time off for the holidays, the program picked up another win in the 2027 recruiting class.

After three straight dual victories over ranked opponents in November, including over No. 16 Missouri (34-3), No. 15 Illinois (24-13), and an important victory over No. 5 Oklahoma State (18-16), the No. 4 Iowa Hawkeyes have scuffled.

The squad dropped two of three duals heading into the break, including a devastating loss to No. 6 Iowa State, snapping a streak of 20 straight victories.

Iowa will return to action for the Soldier Salute at Xtreme Arena in Coralville, Iowa, on January 3 and 4, before returning to dual competition against No. 19 Wisconsin on January 9 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Before the Hawkeyes return from their nice holiday break, they got an early Christmas present in the form of another talented prospect committing to the program.

According to IAwrestle's Ross Bartachek, two-time Fargo champion Shamus Regan has committed to Iowa.

MatScouts has ranked Regan as the No. 40 overall wrestler in the 2027 recruiting class, and he is currently projected to wrestle at 133 pounds.

In their updated rankings on December 4, Flowrestling has ranked Regan as the No. 37 overall wrestler in the 2027 recruiting class, and the No. 8 overall at 132 pounds.

In Flowrestling's latest rankings, Regan rose from No. 22 to No. 8 overall in the 132-pound weight class.

The Iowa Wrestling program has had an amazing stretch of signing top prospects in the 2027 class, and after Regan's commitment, the program now has six prospects in the class.

All six of Iowa's prospects are ranked in the top 100, with four of the six ranking in the top 25.
